The business news for our area just keeps getting better and better, and I couldn’t make this stuff up to be any finer. In today’s Austin American Statesman appeared an article stating that this financial giant is going to add an additional 450 jobs to the already 2,750 jobs at their 50 acre campus in north Austin. The new jobs will be in engineering, client services and support and in software development. No pay scale was provided but generally speaking these positions require skills and a good education and the pay has to match up. Dennis Howard, Schwab’s chief information officer stated the reason for the Austin expansion is the technology that can be found here.
Who else is expanding to the Austin area? Well, you may have heard of:
Oracle, moving their HQ from Silicon Valley to Austin (Silicon Hills)
Apple, building a $1B facility in north Austin
Amazon, adding jobs here
Facebook, adding jobs here
Google, adding jobs here
And did I mention Tesla building a truck manufacturing facility near the airport.
Folks, these new hires have to live somewhere and why not in one of our residential rentals?
