As recently reported in the Austin American Statesman, GAF Energy is building a 450,000 square foot facility to manufacture solar roof shingles.  There first facility is in San Jose, California.  The building is expected to be completed by June, 2023 and will employ 265 employees in the technical field.

The solar shingles can be nailed and can withstand winds up to 130 mph.

Lastly, did you know that the US Census Bureau lists Georgetown as the fastest growing city in the country by percentage among those with populations of at least 50,000 from July 2020 to July 2021?

Just another great reason that owning Austin area residential real estate makes for a great investment.  All these new hires have to live somewhere.  Many times, newcomers will rent before buying a house.  And having a well-placed residential rental, in good condition, is just the ticket for these folks.

Rents in our area remain very strong and those folks who shake the bones and read the tea leaves do not see a downturn in our leasing activity.

Opportunity is knocking…. who will answer?
