Today’s Austin American Statesman reported that Carts.com is relocating their headquarters from Houston to Austin. Frankly the headline puzzled me but then as I read on the move started to make sense. The main reason, Austin is becoming a “top notch” tech town. So, it makes sense to be here.
Carts.com provides stores with online marketing, order fulfillment, banking services, and analytics of sales and marketing similar to Amazon but cheaper.
Presently Carts.com employs 150 people in Austin but intends to double that figure within 12 months. New hires will be in engineering, finance, information security, information technology, human resources, and sales. I should add that these positions usually pay quite well in the dot com field.
All good reasons to own residential rental real estate in our booming area as the rule of thumb is that every new position creates 3 others.
